11th Annual North Tahoe Rowing Regatta June 16, 2012
2012 Regatta General Information
The Tahoe Yacht Club-sponsored North Tahoe Rowing Regatta has returned to its traditional date of the third Saturday in June, a weekend that’s provided great conditions over the years. The race is held on two courses: a more sheltered 3.75nm course open to both flat water and open water shells, and a 8.75nm more exposed course for open water shells only. All shells on both courses must have a bailer or bailing device and a PFD; a compass or GPS is also strongly advised for every shell.
The Crown Motel, 8200 North Lake Boulevard in Kings Beach, is the location of race headquarters and the race start is just offshore from their beach. The Crown offers rowers a discount on rooms if you reserve for three nights or longer; mention the rowing regatta when you call. (800) 645-2260. Regatta Schedule
Friday: Informal pasta dinner with no-host bar at the Tahoe Yacht Club, 700 North Lake Boulevard, Tahoe City.
Saturday: 7:30AM Skippers meeting on the beach at the Crown (mandatory) 8:15 AM Long course race begins 8:30 AM Short course race begins 11:00AM Brunch and awards ceremony around the pool at the Crown
Entry Deadline Entries must be postmarked by June 7th.
